J&K records overall 69.65% voter turnout in Phase-III of J&K Assembly polls

Srinagar, 2 Oct (KB): The third (last) phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections recorded an overall 69.65% voter turnout, official said on wednesday.

An official told news agency Kashmir Bulletin that, all the 40 assembly constituencies of seven districts of Jammu and Kashmir have recorded 69.65 percent voter turnout in the third phase of Assembly Elections in the Union Territory.

Giving district wise data officials told KB that, Bandipora recorded 67.68% voter turnout, Baramulla 61.03%, Jammu 71.40%, Kathua 73.34%, Kupwara 66.79%, Samba 75.88% and Udhampur recorded 76.09% voter turnout in the third last phase of assembly polls.

While sharing constituency wise details officials stated that, Karnah recorded 69.77%, Trehgam 66.97%, Kupwara 64.25%, Lolab 64.73%, Handwara 72.78%, Langate 63.88%, Sopore 45.32%, Rafiabad 62.38%, Uri 69.86%, Baramulla 53.90%, Gulmarg 71.36%, Wagoora-Kreeri 60.81%, Pattan 67.61%, Sonawari 69.88%, Bandipora 63.40%, Gurez(ST) 78.04%, Udhampur West 77.07%, Udhampur East 77.68%, Chenani 76.90%, Ramnagar(SC) 72.34%, Bani 72.73%, Billawar 72.01%, Basohli 69.37%, Jasrota 74.36%, Kathua (SC) 75.53%, Hiranagar 74.60%, Ramgarh (SC) 76.70%, Samba 74.61%, Vijaypur 76.42%, Bishnah (SC) 77.96%, Suchetgarh (SC) 73.93%, R.S Pura- Jammu south 67.18%, Bahu 60.51%, Jammu East 64.35%, Nagrota 77.66%, Jammu West 60.94%, Jammu North 65.84%, Marh(SC) 81.47%, Akhnoor(SC) 79.73%, Chhamb 80.34% recorded overall voter turnout in third last phase of assembly elections.

The 3rd (last) phase of General Elections to J&K Legislative Assembly was in 40 Assembly Constituencies (ACs) across seven districts of Jammu & Kashmir.

In this phase, there were 39,18,220 lakh voters eligible to exercise their franchise. Out of them, 20,09,033 male voters; 19,40,092 female voters and 57 third gender voters.

As many as 1.94 lakh youth between the age group 18-19 years, along with 35,860 Person with Disabilities (PwDs) and 32,953 elderly voters above the age of 85 were also eligible to exercise their franchise in this phase.

The respective District Administrations had made elaborative arrangements at all the polling stations for free, fair and transparent elections. (KB)
