Low voter turnout marks start of Udhampur-Doda-Ramban parliamentary Elections

Srinagar, April 19 (DSN): The Udhampur-Doda-Ramban parliamentary constituency has seen a modest start with an overall voter turnout of 10.43% as voting commenced this morning.

As per the details available with the Daily Spark News DSN – the breakdown from various regions reveals varied participation levels. “Udhampur’s Bani reported 8.79% turnout, while Basohli and Chenani registered 9.86% and 9.87% respectively. However, Udhampur East surpassed these numbers with an 11.93% turnout, whereas Udhampur West lagged behind at 9.08%.”

In Doda, “the voter enthusiasm was marginally higher with an overall turnout of 9.97%. Notably, Inderwal stood out with a turnout of 13.73%, followed closely by padder-nagseni at 13.84%. Bhaderwah, on the other hand, recorded a 9.60% turnout,” said the data.

Ramban and Kishtwar reported 9.71% and 11.88% respectively, while Banihal marked the lowest with a mere 6.71%.

Lastly, authorities are optimistic about a surge in voter participation as the day advances. They encourage all eligible voters to exercise their democratic right and cast their votes.—(DSN)
