Mathematics Innovator Expo 2024 culminates at GVEI

Srinagar, 28 Sep: The Mathematics Innovator Expo 2024 organised by the department of Mathematics concluded at Green Valley Educational Institute (GVEI) Srinagar.

The three-day event was organised by the Mathematics department of the school.
Head Department of Mathematics, University of Kashmir, Dr. Professor Mukhtar Ahmed Khanday was the chief guest and chief panelist on the concluding ceremony of the Event.
“Thethree-day event was organised to provide a platform for mathematical exploration, innovation, and skill-building, aiming to inspire a passion for mathematics among young learners from various institutions,” the school handout reads.
The second day saw an exciting quiz competition, conducted in junior and senior categories. In the senior category, DPS Srinagar secured the first position, followed by GVEI in second place, while Dolphin International School, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Zadibal, and Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute shared the third position. In the junior category, DPS Srinagar emerged victorious, RP School Malabagh won second place, and Radiant Public School Anantnag along with GVEI shared third place.
The model exhibition results placed Green Valley Educational Institute first, Kashmir Harvard Educational Institute second, and RP School Malabagh third.
During the concluding ceremony, a felicitation of students in panel discussion was held followed by a ceremony for all the winning students.

The panel consisted of Dr. Professor Mukhtar Ahmed Khanday, HOD mathematics Department KU, Dr. Arfat, Head of the Mathematics Department at GVEI, Academic Officer GVEI Hilal and Jahangir Hussain mathematics educator at GVEI.
Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed Khanday emphasized the importance of nurturing a passion for mathematics, particularly in addressing math phobia among students.
“The Mathematics Innovator Expo 2024 was organized with the primary objective of mitigating the fear of mathematics and transforming the teaching approaches adopted by educators to make learning more engaging and accessible,” the school handout reads.
Chairman GVEI Mohammed Yusuf Wani reaffirmed the Institute’s commitment to leading change in mathematics education and fostering a supportive learning environment
“The expo created an interactive platform for students, educators, and experts to collaborate and exchange ideas, further promoting the role of mathematics in shaping the next generation of critical thinkers and problem-solvers,” he said.
