Eligibility criteria for the NSP Scholarship scheme
Students must have scored at least 50% marks in the previous year’s final examination.
Pre-Matric scholarships are awarded to students studying in classes 1 to 10.
Post-Matric scholarships are available for students studying classes 11, 12 as well as technical and vocational courses.
Merit Cum Means Scholarships (MCMS) will be awarded to students pursuing professional and technical courses.
Students availing the benefit of the National scholarship are not eligible to claim any other scholarship of the State/Central Government for the same course.
Scholarship Scheme Available at NSP Portal
Before initiating registration process, students / Parents / guardian are advised to keep the following documents handy:
1. Educational documents of student.
2(a). For major applicants – Aadhaar will be mandatory for the applicants who have attained 18 years of age on the date of registration. Applicant, who have not yet been assigned Aadhaar will be required to enroll for Aadhaar and then register using Enrolment Identification (EID). However, her registration will be provisional and attain final status on submission of Aadhaar and completion of Aadhaar based eKYC, which will be a prerequisite for release of her scholarship.
2(b). For minor applicants – All applicants, who have not attained the age of 18 years on the date of registration, shall register using Aadhaar with the consent of their parents/legal guardians on voluntary basis. In case Aadhaar has not been assigned to such applicants, they can register using EID. However, in all cases, where Aadhaar/EID of the minor applicant is not provided, Aadhaar of at least one parent/legal guardian will be required. In such cases, the parent/legal guardian will be treated as the Beneficiary. Further, it will be mandatory for students, who register without Aadhaar, to complete their Aadhaar based eKYC on completion of 18 years of age for continuation of registration/ scholarship.

How to register on the NSP portal?
If you are applying for the NSP scholarship for the first time, you must first register as a new applicant. The steps to register on the National Scholarship Portal are as follows:
Step 1: Visit the NSP Scholarship Portal or else access the link @scholarships.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on Fresh Application under Applicant Corner.
Step 3: Now click on New Registration button; Accept the Terms and Continue, then select Continue.
Step 4: Select I have Aadhaar or Enrollment ID (EID), enter your mobile number and type OTP, fill captcha then click on the Verify button.
Step 5: Enter the Aadhaar number, fill the OTP you received on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar, type the captcha code, and click on the Verify button.
Step 6: Once the registration form is opened, provide the following information.

Important Note:
1. After submitting the application, the default login id and password to log into NSP portal will be sent to the provided mobile number. In case the password is not received, the option for forgot password at login page shall be used.
2. Students are advised to provide “Annual Family Income” as per the Income Certificate issued by Competent Authority in their scholarship application.
