Srinagar, 1 Oct (KB): National Conference vice President Omar Abdullah on tuesday thanked J&K voters for a strong election turnout, while awaiting for October 8 results with hope and nervousness.
Omar in a post on X as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin wrote, “To the people of J&K who came out to vote across three phases of polling in 90 constituencies, I thank you for making the effort. Barring a few constituencies where turnout was disappointing, the long lines of people waiting to cast their votes was a testament to the power of democracy in a region that has been silenced for almost a decade.
Omar’s post further reads that, My colleagues and I now await the results with a mixture of excitement, hope, and a little nervousness. 8th October can’t come soon enough.”
Omar Abdullah contested the Lok Sabha elections from the north Kashmir parliamentary seat, with himself losing to Sheikh Abdul Rashid (Engineer Rashid). (KB)
